SAS 70 Certified Type I and Type IIStatements on Auditing Standards, No. 70 (SAS 70) validate a company’s systems and processes, ensuring the right processes and controls are in place and have been tested for ongoing effectiveness. RR Donnelley is the only financial printer with both Type I and Type II SAS 70 certification. Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody (FSC CoC)All print facilities in the U.S. and Canada have been certified under the Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody (FSC CoC) program. In addition, our sites in China and Reynosa, Mexico, have also achieved this distinction. This totals to over 125 plants globally with FSC certification. ISO 14001ISO 14001 is designed to provide a tool to allow a site to control the environmental impact of its activities, products or services, and to continuously improve its environmental performance. In 2005, W.E. Andrews, an RR Donnelley company in Bedford, Massachusetts, became the first U.S. RR Donnelley facility to achieve ISO 14001 certification from the International Standards Organization. This distinction means this site has exemplary environmental, health and safety programs. Since January 2000, 10 of our global document solution sites in Europe have achieved ISO 14001 certification. Our Flaxby Moor facility in the UK was recertified in 2003. Both our Shanghai and Shenzhen facilities in China earned ISO 14001 certifications in 2003. These facilities’ environmental processes and procedures have been found to meet ISO’s criteria and have been audited by an independent third party to confirm results. OHSAS 18001The Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Specification (OHSAS) 18001 is earned by sites that have implemented safety and health management systems to make safety more efficient and integrated into overall business operations. With the certification of our Shanghai, China facility in 2003, RR Donnelley now has a total of three sites certified to 18001 standards. The other two facilities are located in Krakow, Poland. SASSTOur Tlalnepantla, Mexico site earned the Sistema de Administración de la Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (SASST) in 2004 from the Mexican Labor Secretariat (STPS). This certification is for accreditation of the facility’s management systems and security in the workplace. Voluntary Protection Program VPP Star StatusFour North American sites also have achieved Star status under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). |
