More BPO firms moving to RP: KPMG
The Philippines continues to become an attractive site for outsourcing as several business process outsourcing (BPO) firms have expressed plans to move their operations to the country. According to business advisory and auditing firm KPMG, one BPO company is even planning to provide as much as 20,000 jobs to the Philippines.

China becomes top destination for global outsourcing business
According to statistics from the 2nd China International Service Outsourcing Cooperation Conference, in the first five months of this year the number of newly-established outsourcing enterprises in China stood at 1,057, bringing 246,000 job opportunities and generating a lucrative profit of 3.52 billion US dollars, a 13.2 percent increase year-on-year. The contract amount stood at 2.3 billion US dollars, with international outsourcing services taking 82.4 percent, a yearly increase of 45 percent.

Concerns about data security, quality curbing growth

While India led the rankings globally, Ghana had the top overall ranking in sub-Saharan Africa, though in terms of actual BPO revenue, SA is still the continent's leader.

Northern Ireland gains popularity as a global IT and BPO destination in the recent surveys
Northern Ireland, one of the four constituent countries within the United Kingdom, has emerged as an attractive investment destination for the global IT, BPO and knowledge-processing industries. According to A.T. Kearney's Global Services Location Index (GSLI), a ranking of the 50 leading outsourcing destinations, Northern Ireland's capital city Belfast was used as a cost/quality benchmark for the United Kingdom, has been ranked 31st for the 2009 survey.
